Tony's Pick
A lot of the datavis content that gets attention on the internet is more about looking cool than about improving understand of the data. This one is an exception for me. It communicates a lot of data quickly in a relatively obvious way, and with a clear narrative. Brilliant!

Terry Cavanagh, creator of VVVVVV, Super Hexagon, and Dicey Dungeon, shared some early screenshots and builds of his Dicey Dungeon prototypes this week. I enjoyed seeing the evolution from game jam to fully polished release, especially around game balance. And as much as Chipzel’s music slaps super duper hard, I’m a sucker for the MIDI rendition of “Timber” by Pitbull featuring Ke$ha that was randomly chosen for my playthrough. (This is not a joke - I love that song.)
Here are the old builds, which are so old that they have a Flash version available. Warning - they take _forever_ to load. Plan to make a cup of coffee or tea while you wait.

To be honestly I haven't been completely following the latest games twitter thing, but here's what Dicey Dungeons looked like before it was finished, lol
